Workshops

You Have to Start Somewhere

Many families have no idea where to start the College Planning process.  Our free workshops are a great place to start!  Maybe you feel like you just need to fill in some knowledge gaps - we will cover things few others are willing to tell you.  No matter where you are in the process, our workshops will be worth your time!

Come and hear about such topics as:

  • How to send your child to an expensive private university for less than a state school
  • How to qualify for financial aid, even if you have a six or seven figure income
  • How to pick colleges that will give you the best financial aid packages
  • Rules for divorced & separated parents
  • Rules for Business Owners
  • How you can pay for college on a Tax Favored basis, even if you do not qualify for need based aid
  • The right way to position your assets to maximize the aid you will get
  • How good tax strategies may unfortunately cost you financial aid
  • How to lower your “out-of-pocket” costs, and maximize aid eligibility
  • How to fill out complicated financial aid forms accurately and on time
  • How to pay for college in the modern economy without relying on expensive private loans, or raiding your retirement accounts
  • The pros and cons of 529 plans and their frequent over-utilization
  • How to develop a customized plan to pay for the "gap" between college costs and the amount of financial aid you receive

Do You Know?

Financial Aid is often FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Once you pass January 1st of your child’s Sophmore year in high school, your ability to get maximum financial aid may start to decrease. That doesn't mean it's too late to do anything after that date.  It's seldom too late to start the process, but it's also never too early.  Don't wait any longer to get started!
